Catching up

Wow, time sure has flown by lately...

I took the week of Thanksgiving off and decided to take my youngest niece to the Children's Museum at the Gateway. We had lots of fun, once she decided it was okay to play. We had lunch and went to Build-A-Bear to look around before going back home.

At Christmas, I had 2 weeks off. Before Christmas, I borrowed my niece again and we went to see “The Princess and the Frog”. We bought popcorn and she was so cute. We got to the theatre and sat down and she put her napkins in her lap and pointed to the bag of popcorn. She was really good through the movie and just kept asking for popcorn. I think she ate more than I did!

We had a really good Christmas and it was fun to have everyone together. As usual, Mom went a little crazy and spoiled us all.

The Monday after Christmas my sister went in and had her 2nd baby. So my youngest niece now has a little brother around the house. She wasn’t sure she liked him when we took her to the hospital and she was a little afraid of her mom in that big hospital bed, but she warmed up eventually. When I was holding him, I got her to come look at his little feet, but she wouldn’t get too close. With the new baby, I now have 3 nieces and 3 nephews and 1 nephew on the way.

New Year’s Eve I got to hold the little guy. His sister got a little mad telling us he was mommy’s baby. I’m sure there’s been a discussion about how she shouldn’t pick him up. She’s a little rough with her baby dolls and my sister was a little nervous about it.

It was a great end to the year!

I can see that you have had some fun experiences and that surely help time fly. I am glad. Time has crawled for me but I haven't filled it with the same things you have. Maybe next year I can enjoy the season as it is meant to be enjoyed. I like to hear about your events. You are a good aunt! I hope your sister and brother appreciate you!!! Congratulations on a new nephew - what is his name?

Oh, I love that you "borrow" your neice and I love that you are able to take them one at a time. That is VALUABLE to them. They get to go somewhere special ALONE! I wish it for my children. I wish I could take them out alone a little more often. It makes them feel unitquely important and very special and it builds a better relationship. Don't you agree?
